THE STORY, IN LYNNE'S WORDS

“The clients who show up are ready to play.”

Hear Lynne share what changed, what surprised her, and how the messaging upgrade changed the quality of clients coming her way.

THE CHALLENGE

Her Business Was Successful. But Her Message Was Attracting the Wrong Buyers.

Lynne had spent years working in product management and marketing before building a coaching business for professionals advancing into leadership roles in technology. She understood her market. She understood marketing. And she already knew how to generate revenue.

But her messaging was built around a familiar marketing formula: identify a problem, amplify the pain, and present the solution. The more she used that approach, the more she attracted people who focused on everything going wrong around them.

Their bosses. Their organizations. Their colleagues. The obstacles preventing them from moving forward. These weren't necessarily people who lacked real challenges.

But many were approaching those challenges from a place of frustration rather than a readiness to take ownership and act. That created a disconnect.

Lynne's greatest strength was helping capable, ambitious professionals become stronger leaders. She wanted to work with resourceful people who were ready to take action, use the tools available to them, and create meaningful change.

But her messaging was emphasizing the problems of a different kind of buyer. The language she was using wasn't reflecting the clients she most wanted to attract.

And because it didn't feel aligned with her personality or philosophy, creating marketing content had become something she dreaded.

WHAT WE CHANGED

From $60K–$70K Months to Averaging Over $100K

Before working on her messaging, Lynne had struggled to consistently grow beyond approximately $60,000 to $70,000 in monthly revenue. After implementing her new positioning, she reported averaging more than $100,000 per month. She also celebrated her first $250,000 quarter. These results came from an already established business. Lynne had existing marketing experience, programs, and an audience. The messaging work helped her refine who she was attracting and how she communicated her value within that business.

Her Close Rate Increased From Approximately 30% to Nearly 50%

One of the most meaningful changes happened in her sales conversations. Lynne reported that her close rate increased from approximately 30% to nearly 50%. She was no longer relying on the same degree of pain-focused persuasion. More of the people coming into her world were already aligned with her approach.

She Raised Her Prices by 30%

Lynne had wanted to increase her prices for some time. But she had been hesitant to make the change. As she became more confident in her positioning and the value of her work, she raised her program pricing by 30%.

She also realized that her clients weren't all at the same stage of their professional development. More senior professionals had different needs from people earlier in their leadership journey. Rather than continuing to place everyone into one program, she separated her clients into two programs that better reflected their experience and needs.

The adjustment made the coaching experience more relevant for both groups. And according to Lynne, it required only about one additional hour of her time. The result was a business model that felt more aligned with the people she served and the way she wanted to work.

THE TRANSFORMATION BEYOND THE NUMBERS
Marketing Became Something She Actually Enjoyed Again.

Before the messaging changes, Lynne dreaded preparing her weekly emails. Every Sunday felt like another obligation to produce marketing content that didn't sound like her.

She had experience in marketing, but the approach she was using felt uncomfortable. Once her message shifted, creating content became easier. She began writing from her own perspective.

She focused on the ideas she wanted to share and the people she wanted to help. And the response changed. People who had followed her for years began booking calls. Subscribers started telling her they loved her emails. Lynne was no longer forcing herself to communicate through a formula that felt disconnected from her personality.
