The keys to finding a brand designer as an online coach

When it comes to finding a brand designer for your online coaching business, there are a number of key factors to take into consideration. I have been working as a Brand Strategist and brand designer since 2007, and I can tell you without a doubt, there are a few factors that are extremely important and will definitely matter in terms of building success in your own business.

Here are what I believe to be the most important keys to take into account:

  1. Style: A brand designer should have a style that aligns with your business and brand. It’s important to look through their portfolio and see if their design aesthetic matches what you envision for your brand. Look for a designer who has a clear and cohesive design style, as this will help to create a consistent and professional look for your brand.

This is often one of the things I personally find the hardest. I don’t think that any brand designer will do. I think you need to have someone who understands what it means to show value in the work you are doing. You need someone who has a very specific style that aligns to what you value as well. Here you can see examples of my own personal style.
  2. Experience: Experience is crucial when it comes to finding a brand designer. Choose someone who has worked with businesses in your industry, as this will ensure that they understand the specific needs and challenges of your business. Look for a designer who has a track record of creating successful brands and can provide examples of their past work.
  3. Process: Consider the designer’s process for creating a brand. Do they offer consultation to get to know your business and goals? Do they have a clear plan for how they will approach the project? A well-defined process will ensure that the end result meets your expectations and is completed in a timely manner. It’s also important to find a designer who is open to collaboration and willing to listen to your ideas and feedback.

I personally follow a process I call the Breakthrough Brand Strategy Pyramid. This is all about intention-based marketing and using your message to attract better quality leads into your online business.

  1. Communication: Effective communication is crucial when working with a brand designer. Make sure that you feel comfortable talking to them and that they are responsive to your questions and concerns. Look for a designer who is easy to communicate with and willing to work with you to achieve your desired results.
  2. Cost: It’s important to consider the cost of hiring a brand designer, but remember that quality is important. A good brand designer will be worth the investment, as they can help create a cohesive and professional brand that sets you apart from the competition. Don’t be afraid to ask potential designers about their pricing and any available packages.

When searching for a brand designer, it’s also important to keep in mind the specific needs of your online coaching business. For example, if you offer a variety of services or have a complex brand message, you may want to look for a designer who has experience creating multifaceted brands. On the other hand, if you have a more straightforward business model, you may be able to work with a designer who has a more streamlined approach to branding.

In addition to the above factors, there are a few other things to consider when looking for a brand designer for your online coaching business. These include:

  1. Flexibility: As your business grows and evolves, you may need to make changes to your brand. Look for a designer who is flexible and willing to work with you to make updates as needed.
  2. Attention to detail: A strong brand designer should have a keen eye for detail and be able to create designs that are polished and professional. Look for someone who takes pride in their work and pays attention to even the smallest details.
  3. Creativity: A good brand designer should be able to bring fresh ideas to the table and think outside the box. Look for someone who is open to trying new approaches and isn’t afraid to take creative risks.
  4. Technical skills: In addition to creative abilities, a brand designer should have strong technical skills. This includes proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, as well as an understanding of design principles and best practices.

Ultimately, the most important element when looking for a brand designer for your online coaching business is finding someone who understands your vision and can effectively bring it to life through their designs. Take the time to research and communicate with potential designers to ensure that you find the best fit for your business. With the right brand designer, you can create a professional and cohesive brand that will be built for success.
